AMSR now hosting oral histories
Sunday, September 26th, 2021
The Network’s collection of Oral Histories has moved! Formerly to be found on the MRS website, it is now being hosted by the Archive of Market and Social Research (AMSR) and can be found here here.
The Network continues to be responsible for selecting and interviewing subjects, and for editing the completed interviews. The Archive has assumed responsibility for storing and publicising the interviews and making them available to Network members, researchers, academics and other interested parties.
Since the project was launched by Lawrence Bailey in 2011, we have published 35 oral history interviews and several more are in the pipeline.
As the Archive’s own website puts it, “This is an extremely important resource relating to the history of market research. To date, 35 interviews with eminent figures of the industry are available for you to listen to. They all contain fascinating and often personal insights into the early days of market research and the many ways in which the sector has developed over the past decades. Some of the interviewees are sadly no longer with us, making these recordings even more valuable as unique sources of information and as a form of memorial.”
We encourage all members and visitors to take a look at the AMSR website via the above link and explore this unique material. The link can also be accessed from the Oral History page of our own website https://www.research-network.org.uk/oral-history/
